The Daily Bread: John 10:10 – “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Weather: 68 degrees, sunny
Well everyone, the last day of Junior 2 has ended – and what a week it has been! I have throughly enjoyed being around all these happy children these past several days. Our campers and their energy are a huge part of what keeps us staff going! Today was beautifully sunny and slighter cooler, which was perfect weather for going on invigorating excursions through nature. The kids experienced exciting trips such as caving, kayaking, and hiking mountains! They were troopers.
Here’s a bit of a camper spotlight from this week – I heard this story from a Boys’ Village counselor:
During supper in the cafeteria, one of this counselor’s nine-year-olds slipped and dropped a bunch of burger patties on the floor. The counselor saw this and made his camper clean the patties up himself. While this was happening, another camper from a different cabin rushed right over and helped the camper clean everything. Astonished, the counselor was inspired and said that he should have been the one helping, and needed to be more like that selfless boy.
Hearing stories like these during the week is so refreshing! We are definitely proud of these kids and I’m sure all you parents out there are as well!
