Les first started working at Big Lake in 1994. When not at camp, Les enjoys rock and ice climbing, mountaineering and adventuring with his wife, Marschelle, and daughters, Sofie and Elsie. He has worked in youth ministries in Australia, organized and directed expeditions to the Himalayas and earned his Masters in Leadership from Andrews University.
Liesl Schnibbe - Associate Camp Director
Liesl Schnibbe joined the Big Lake crew from the Legal/Trust department at the Oregon Conference, and is excited to get back to camp ministry after several years in other areas! She enjoys cooking, trying new things, and doing things outside—whether skiing, reading a book in the grass (or a hammock), or paddling a canoe or kayak.
Ross von Pohle - Facilities Manager
We're happy to have a native Central Oregonian on the team at Big Lake. Originally from Bend, OR, Ross started working for Big Lake in 2009 as Assistant Camp Ranger. As a licensed contractor by trade, Ross's skills have been put to good use at camp. In his free time Ross enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Erinn, and their two children, Zeb and Peyton. You can often find them skiing, snowboarding, dirt biking, or mountain biking.
Paul Wilson - Ranger
Paul's first summer working at Big Lake was 2003. After graduating from Walla Walla University he worked at camp for two winters before heading off to get his master's degree. In December 2016 he rejoined the team here as the Camp Ranger. Paul enjoys playing riding snowmobiles, playing sports, reading books, and living at Big Lake with his wife Julie.
Big Lake Youth Camp operates under a special use permit with the Willamette National Forest and is an equal opportunity outdoor recreation service provider.
