The Daily Bread: Galatians 6:4-5 – “Do your own work well, and then you will have something to be proud of. But don’t compare yourself with others. We each must carry our own load.”
Weather: 83 degrees, sunny
Halfway through the week – but our Tween campers are still strong with energy and loving their classes and activities! The softball games have been intense, and the mealtimes relaxing. I love going to campfires with these kids; their spunk and enthusiasm lift me right up.
The verse that I put up for today caught my eye particularly because I have been thinking about comparison lately. At times, comparison can be a good thing, like when one is trying to make a decision about a large purchase or the day’s plans. However, it is never a good thing when it involves you and others. Comparing yourself to others can either end up in pride or a poor self-image. It’s hard not to compare yourself at any age, but in doing that we lose sight of our own God-given uniqueness and purpose. During a staff worship this week, someone said that our focus must shift from looking at ourselves to Jesus. Once we have our eyes on Him, we are able to carry out a service to others that is pure. Everyone is amazing in their own way, and the place that everyone has in this life is vital.
Here’s some pictures of your campers being amazing, as always!
