REG CAMPS

Big Lake’s regular (REG) camps feature our traditional camping programs available for youth ages 10-17. REG campers will be at camp Sunday-Friday. Adventure and Junior campers will not need to choose a morning activity, but will rotate through various activities each day. Evenings are full of fun group games and end with our awesome Campfire program.

**We will be providing chartered bus transportation to/from Gladstone/Portland and Salem. Spaces will be limited: $67 one-way and $134 round-trip.**

For the Fridays (July 12 and 19) camper pick-up will be:
Rivergate Adventist Elementary School, 1505 Rivergate School Rd, Gladstone  OR  97027

For Sundays (July 14 and 21) camper drop-off will be:
Portland Adventist Academy, 1500 NE 96th Avenue, Portland  OR  97216

Unless otherwise noted, camper drop-off and pick-up will be at Oregon Conference Headquarters, 19800 Oatfield Rd, Gladstone  OR  97027

Some of the activities we have planned for this summer are listed below. Tweens and Teens will be able to choose one of these activities as their morning activity.  NOTE: Tween and Teen friends wanting to be in the same cabin need to choose the same morning activity.

**Our Adventure and Junior camps will get to rotate through activities, morning and afternoon, as cabin groups instead of choosing a morning activity and having activity rotations just in the afternoons. Tween and Teen camps will be able to choose their morning activity, but still be able to experience many other activities during afternoon rotations.**

ACTIVITY AVAILABILITY WILL BE UPDATED THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER

Start an Adventure!

Are you ready to have fun this summer?

Archery/Archery Tag (Tween  and Teen sessions only)

Start at a Yeoman skill level and see if you can improve to Olympian in our archery program that follows the National Archery Association outline. First learn the safe and proper care of your bows and arrows, ensuring that everyone has a great time, then take aim on our archery range and get better with each shot.

Archery Tag is an exciting new game which uses marshmallow-tipped arrows to hit your opponents and rack up points for your team in this new dodgeball-style game.

BMX

All the thrills and spills of BMX biking are packed into one week of adrenaline-pumping excitement. Learn techniques to ride faster and jump higher. From beginner through advanced, Big Lake’s very own racetrack is challenging and lots of fun. Bikes and helmets are provided.

Mountain Biking

Make use of one of our Gary Fisher bikes or bring your own. Big Lake provides the helmets and the opportunity for fun in this challenging and rewarding class that takes you to scenic viewpoints overlooking Mt. Washington, Hoodoo, and Sand Mountain. Stamina, balance, and team encouragement will characterize this activity.

Sea Wolf (not available as a morning activity, but as an afternoon rotation activity)

The Sea Wolf is a raft-like towable that seats up to 12 individuals. It combines a tour of the lake with the excitement of a traditional innertube ride. Consideration is taken to judge campers comfort level for rides on the Sea Wolf as well as safety practices in place for boat drivers, staff, and campers to be able to communicate throughout the experience.

Swimming/Blob (available as a rotation activity for Adventure or Junior camps and as a selected morning activity for tween/teen camps, as well as afternoon rotations)

The Blob and Surf-bikes further enhance our swimming program, designed to strengthen your stroke and help you become a more efficient swimmer. Our American Red Cross certified instructor is able to teach five levels of swimming proficiency in Big Lake’s refreshing waters. Come enjoy the crystal clear waters of Big Lake.
