Youth Camps

Big Lake’s regular (REG) camps feature our traditional camping programs available for youth ages 7-17. REG campers will be at camp Sunday-Friday. Adventure and Junior campers will not need to choose a morning activity, but will rotate through various activities each day. Evenings are full of fun group games and end with our awesome campfire program.

July 7-12, 2024

This is an excellent introductory to summer camp for ages 7-9. There are plenty of opportunities to build confidence and try new things-this is a six-day, five-night camp with check-in on Sunday and check-out on Friday. Campers rotate through  four different activities daily to try all the fun Big Lake offers. Our activities include swimming, blob, climbing wall, creative arts, crafts, pony rides, sea wolf, canoeing, sailing and sports. Your child will have a blast exploring these exciting options. Evenings are filled with group games and end with our fantastic campfire program, including great music and engaging nightly plays. Our excellent staff/camper ratio provides the support and attention needed for a wonderful first camp experience.

June 30-July 5, 2024

This camp is for ages 10-12 to build confidence and try new things. It’s a six-day, five-night camp with check in on Sunday and check out on Friday. Campers will rotate through five different activities daily, so they get to try all the fun things Big Lake has to offer. Get ready for an awesome adventure! Our activities include, archery, biking, swimming, blob, climbing wall, creative arts, crafts, pony rides, sea wolf, canoeing, sailing, and sports. Your child will have a blast exploring these exciting options. Evenings are filled with group games and end with our fantastic campfire program, which includes great music and engaging plays. Our excellent staff/camper ratio provides the support and attention needed for a wonderful camp experience.

July 14-19 & July 21-26, 2024

This camp is for ages 11-13 and helps build confidence and try new things—this is a five-day camp with check-in on Sunday and check-out on Friday. Tween campers choose a morning activity to focus on, then rotate through three different activities in the afternoon. Our activities include Archery/archery Tag, Art, Canoeing, Ceramics and Pottery, Crafts, Digital Photography, Drama, Geocaching/Survival, Gymnastics, Rock Climbing and Initiative Games, Sports, Stem: Rockets & More, Swimming/Blob, Videography, Watersports (towables), Windsports (sailing, SUP& Windsurfing). Your child will have a blast honing their skills in these exciting classes and rotate through other activities in the afternoon with their cabin. Evenings are filled with group games and end with our fantastic campfire program, including great music and engaging nightly plays. Our excellent staff/camper ratio provides the support and attention needed for a wonderful camp experience.

Teen 1: July 28- Aug 2 & Teen 2: Aug 4-9, 2024

This camp is for ages 13-17 and is a great time to build confidence, foster relationships, and explore new horizons. It’s a five-night, six-day adventure, Sunday check-in through Friday check-out. Our Teen campers get to choose a morning activity like Archery/Archery Tag, Art, Canoeing, Ceramics and Pottery, Crafts, Digital Photography, Drama, Geocaching/Survival, Gymnastics, Rock Climbing & Initiative Games, Sports, STEM: Rockets & More, Swimming/Blob, Videography, Wakesports, & Windsports. Afternoons are spent rotating through the other exciting activities as a cabin group. Evenings are filled with group games and end with our excellent campfire program, including great music and engaging nightly plays. Our staff provides the support and attention needed to make a wonderful camp experience.

Bus Transport

We understand that transportation can be a concern for parents, which is why we offer chartered bus transportation to/from Gladstone/Portland and Salem. Our buses are safe and reliable, ensuring a comfortable journey for your child. Please note that spaces are limited, so we encourage you to book early. The cost is $67 one-way and $134 round-trip. Unless otherwise noted, bus drop-off and pick-up in Portland will be at the Oregon Conference Headquarters, 19800 Oatfield Rd. Gladstone, OR 97027 and Livingstone Adventist Academy, 5771 Fruitland Rd NE Salem, OR 97317 

Cabin Mate Requests

Friends attending camp the same week will each need to make the request by name upon registration. Every effort is made to accommodate requests, but we cannot make guarantees.

Camp Check-in and Pick-up

Our camper check-in and check-out times are assigned by cabins. Watch your email for specific times for your camper about 5-7 days before your reservation. But plan on these time ranges: Sunday 2:00-5:00 PM and Friday pick-up 1:00-2:30 PM.

Available activities for Teen sessions – Updated 7/29/24

Our Adventure and Junior camps will get to rotate through activities, morning and afternoon, as cabin groups instead of choosing a morning activity and having activity rotations just in the afternoons. Tween and Teen camps will be able to choose their morning activity, but still be able to experience many other activities during afternoon rotations.
