Financial Assistance – Campership

The Big Lake Youth Camp “Campership Scholarship” fund has been established by donations from campers, parents, former staff and other interested persons who want to see every child have an opportunity to attend Big Lake. The funds are distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis to those who financially qualify, until funds allotted for the summer are used up.

The way to apply for our financial assistance is to choose one of our sessions of camp designated for financial assistance. In the registration process you will need to complete an application for aid and email out a recommendation form to a non-family member who is aware of your financial situation, so have their email address ready. You will then need to complete registering and pay the $75 to hold your camper’s reservation.

Once you have completed your camper’s reservation, it would be a good idea to reach out to the person you emailed the recommendation form to, letting them know to be on the look out for it. After that person has submitted the recommendation, we will take a look at your application to see if you qualify to receive Campership funds, and if there are funds left for the summer. If you do qualify and there are funds left, we will add them to your reservation and email you that the funds have been added.

We look forward to seeing your application and we will do our best to make sure each child who wants to come to camp, gets there! Someday, when your circumstances are reversed, you will have an opportunity to donate to this fund and make a difference in a child’s life so that they will find a love so compelling that they will spend the rest of their lives pursuing its source!

Financial Assistance – Church Assistance

Big Lake Youth Camp is excited to partner with many local Seventh-day Adventist churches to provide financial assistance to families in need of help sending their children to camp.

How does this program work?

Our local Adventist churches tell us either the names of the children/families they are parternering with to send to camp or just the number of children they can help with registration fees. The church then gives a session code and information to the families on how to register using their church specific code.

Most chuches who partner with Big Lake help families with 1/3rd the subsidized registration cost, so $211 for 2026. Our Campership Scholarship funds then helps with $212, so each family then is only reponsible for $211 per camper.

Check with your Adventist church to see if they are partnering with Big Lake this summer. If they aren’t yet, ask them if they are willing.
